How does the Lunna IPL Hair Remover work?

Lunna was designed to deliver permanent hair reduction. By simply gliding it over your skin, you can conveniently remove your hair and simultaneously stop its growth. After 4 sessions, you’ll notice apparent change and, after 12 sessions, you’ll enjoy lasting hair reduction.

This at-home method is much more affordable than laser and less painful than other alternatives, such as waxing.

What's IPL?

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It’s an effective method to reduce hair growth, similar to laser, but it’s considered less invasive and safe to do at home.

It works by emitting light pulses that target hair follicles, damaging and inhibiting their ability to grow new hair—without harming the surrounding skin. The result is less hair for the long-term.

Will Lunna work on my skin type?

IPL is suitable for most skins. However, it’s not suitable for darkest skin tones due to risk of hyperpigmentation and burns, considering skin with more melanin (pigment) absorbs more heat.

To know if you qualify for use, check out the skin tone chart below. Anyone from fair to warm tan can use IPL, while anyone with darker skin than this range is advised not to. With that said, if you are warm tan, we recommend to start off with intensity level 1 only and test your skin’s response on a target area of your choice. It’s good practice to do this when changing intensity levels too.

What parts of my body can I use it on?

Lunna works everywhere that hair grows, including:

  • Legs
  • Underarms
  • Bikini area
  • Brazilian
  • Arms
  • Face
  • Pubic area

How's IPL better than shaving, waxing and laser?

Our Lunna IPL offers the best of all worlds when compared to these other alternatives. Firstly, it’s easier than shaving and ensures there are no cuts, ingrowns or residuals left behind. Secondly, it’s not painful like waxing and gets lasting results, so that you can stop having to keep up with your body hair. And lastly, it’s much cheaper and less invasive than laser, and can be done from home easily. When it comes to results and convenience, IPL is the superior choice.
